Bend in the Road

 

Bend in the Road Beach is open to the public with no parking restrictions at this time, however, restrictions may change from day to day.

Please be mindful of beach restoration efforts due to the recent coastal storms suffered in late 2023/early 2024. New paths have been identified, it is crucial beachgoers adhere to all signage and symbolic fencing and stay out of restoration areas

Lifeguards & Park Patrol will be on stands and the ground as of mid-late June

Please note: Alcohol, open fires, amplified music, tents, and wedding setups are not permitted at Bend in the Road.

***NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT BEND IN THE ROAD AT ANY TIME.***

BEND IN THE ROAD RULES AND REGULATIONS

Please be aware that this property are under the care and control of the Edgartown Park Department. Questions concerning this property should be directed to Jessica McGroarty (parks@edgartown-ma.us)

Bend in the Road may not be used by private businesses without department approval. All events must be cleared with the department at least two weeks in advance.

A contact for the event (wedding planner or cater) must be provided.

Events on the beaches may be held from the day after Labor Day- June 30th. No events will be held from July 1- Labor Day.

The following Rules and Regulations apply for Bend in the Road:

No open fires and No Alcohol
No reservations- Bend in the Road is open to the public and cannot be closed for private events
No Tents, permanent structures or porta- potties.
Limited number of portable chairs for elderly or handicapped persons
Parking is limited to designated beach parking areas and reserved parking is prohibited.
No amplified music.

Consequently, Bend in the Road is not appropriate for larger catered events. Small parties of less than twenty-five can be accommodated providing the above rules and regulations are followed.

Please note: Bend in the Road Beach is owned by Duke’s County and further permits for events at the Bend in the Road may be required.
